Journey into the future: AI, data and next-gen innovations

In the fast-paced world of technology, the convergence of data and open source has become a driving force behind the advancement of artificial intelligence.

“AI is a gold rush; data is the gold,” said Vini Jaiswal (pictured), a data and AI influencer. “Whoever has that data is going to win the race or maybe be at the forefront, because data is very crucial to whatever AI applications we built.”

Jaiswal spoke with theCUBE industry analyst John Furrier at the Databricks Data + AI Summit, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed Jaiswal’s work in the AI space, where the industry is at now and predictions of where things are going next.

The power of open-source platforms and the future of AI applications

ChatGPT has had a lot of adoption in the last year or so. The emergence of data developers, the democratization of access through open-source technologies and the role of data are key drivers of AI applications.

“Everybody is trying to figure out … where to go next, what can I do, which skills I can learn to make sure that I’m learning that product,” Jaiswal said. “I think that’s the phase we are at. People are aware they need to learn, and it’s already here. Like every company is talking about it. They are actively building the projects.”

There is a potential for open-source technologies and data-driven approaches to revolutionize the AI landscape. The many opportunities presented by the convergence of data and open source must be weighed against the challenges of data governance and the need for responsible AI development.

“We bring our tools to the community, and everybody is realizing that there is a lot of meaning to open source and they want to get on that ride,” Jaiswal said. “I think another part about governance that you said, data sharing is one of them. Data sharing allows a recipient and sender to have a very encrypted communication, and that’s a very necessary thing for the next generation.”
